Are you constantly losing your balance? Are you tired of doing the same boring leg lifts and kicking exercises? You've arrived at the right place!
PWR! Moves are a series of exercises similar to the popular LSVT BIG but are administered to address a specific movement, impairment or activity limitation of the PATIENT. Moves were developed and researched by Dr. Becky Farley, PT MS Ph.D. to put off functional decline from PD.
PWR! Moves therapists can address your motor and nonmotor symptoms, help you accomplish your goals, create task specific activities to target gait, agility, strength, ADL, freezing, dexterity, posture and more, and create a personalized exercise prescription to keep you functional and fit for life!

Symptoms Specific Treatment Strategies
How a Parkinson's Specialist can Treat You
01
Rigidity
To reduce or loosen up rigidity (neurologic tightness of muscles), PWR! Moves are instructed and performed in a slow, rhythmic, and sustained manner. PWR! Moves are rehearsed to improve the fluidity of the movement.
03
Incoordination
PWR! Moves may be linked together to accomplish an intended task. To get out of bed from your back for example, a series of PWR! Moves may incorporate stepping and bridging to scoot, twisting to get you on your side, and rocking to get to sitting.
02
Bradykinesia
To reduce bradykinesia (slow movement), PWR! Moves are performed in large ranges of motion and with high velocity. Think BIG and FAST!
04
Reduced Self Awareness
A PWR! Moves physical therapist may incorporate visual aides and targets to draw the patient's attention to the task at hand. These are called "Boosts." These Boosts will train the patient to put greater focus and attention to not the the PWR! Moves themselves, but also the functional activity that the patient is training for.
