"GET DIZZINESS RELIEF"

Vestibular Physical Therapy

The Vestibular System, situated within the inner ear, serves as an organ that relays critical information to the brain regarding head position, movement, and balance. Vestibular dysfunction arises when there's an issue within this system, potentially leading to symptoms such as dizziness, imbalance, double vision, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), and nausea. Physical therapy offers effective interventions, employing repositioning maneuvers, balance exercises, eye and head coordination exercises, and activity modification to aid in the recovery from vestibular dysfunction.

Treatment Steps

1

Diagnose the Problem

An interview, physical exam, oculomotor test (eye and head movement), and special tests are conducted to determine a physical therapy diagnosis. Consultation with a Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctor may be needed to rule out any possible brain disorder.

Treat the Disorder

Depending on the type of dizziness that you have, patients can benefit from any or all of the following:

1. Repositioning Maneuver

2. Vestibular Compensation Exercises

3. Oculomotor Exerises

3. Balance Exercises
